Covered walkways, impressive megalithic sites
#1 Covered walkway at Kermeur Bihan
We're off on a walk along the GR34 in Moëlan-sur-Mer from the Pointe de Kerfany to the cove of Sainte-Thumette... Approximately 1.5 km after the chapel of Lanriot, at the viewpoint over the port of Bélon, you need to go inland and it's here that you'll find the covered walkway of Kermeur Bihan.
This Neolithic covered walkway is listed as a Historic Monument, and you're sure to be impressed!
#2 Allée couverte de Kerantiec
Riec-sur-Bélon is home to the Kerantiec covered walkway, which has the unusual feature of being arched. If you're planning a walk to the Pointe de Penquernéo, stop off along the way to take a look at this unusual historical monument...
#3 Allée couverte de Kerlauret
Also known as the Lann Vraz covered walkway, the Kerlauret covered walkway is located in Moëlan-sur-Mer on the road leading to the port of Merrien... Partly ruined, several slabs are missing from this granite building.
#4 Allée couverte de Kergoustance
Located just a few hundred metres from the Moëlan-sur-Mer tourist information office, the covered alleyway at Kergoustance is listed as a Historic Monument and well worth a visit!
A cinerary urn, coins and sigillata discovered during excavations carried out in 1882 reveal the existence of a Roman presence and the reuse of this site as a burial ground.
Legend has it that the covered alleyway was home to korrigans, who invited the elderly and men on their way to the mill to dance around the monument all night long...
#5 and #6 Kercordonner covered walkway and menhir
Head towards the port of Brigneau in Moëlan-sur-Mer and you won't want to miss the megalithic complex comprising the covered walkway and the Kercordonner menhir!
