The first rays of sunshine, the buds awakening and the days getting longer... April represents the awakening of the plants and flowers in our gardens. So don't miss out on this magical moment and come and visit the gardens of the Pays de Quimperlé!

The Treuscoat Gardens

The Jardins de Treuscoat are located in Scaër in the Vallée de l'Isole, 25 km from Quimperlé. They are a garden of a thousand colours and scents...

Liliane and Alex, two botany enthusiasts

In central Finistère, you'll find Liliane and Alex and their magnificent plant gardens. Both passionate about botany, they set about developing and clearing their 4.5 hectare garden 25 years ago! They tell us that at the outset, these gardens were simply an extension of their 6-hectare private garden, which had run out of space for new plants.

Cuttings, seedlings, there's no secret to it: Liliane and Alex have worked hard to create their gardens, with a good dose of love!

Today, and since 2015, they invite you to admire the constant spectacle of new blooms in their superb gardens.

A garden from the four corners of the world

During their travels, Liliane and Alex have visited many parks and gardens around the world, particularly in Northern Europe: England, Scotland, Germany and the north of the Loire...

Guided by their passion for botany, these trips have given them the opportunity to bring in plants from a wide variety of origins! Today, they also work with manual pollination to create new and unusual species. They've registered around twenty of them to date, the first bearing the name of the Gardens: Treuscoat!

You can take a stroll through the heart of the Treuscoat Gardens, with its 1,000 varieties of rhododendron, 120 varieties of camellia, 100 varieties of hydrangea and many other rare shrubs... just to name a few!

We visited it for you!

Baume Shanti

Near Bannalec, a garden of aromatic and medicinal plants awaits you at the Ferme de Quimerc'h, 12 km from Quimperlé!

Marie and Vincent, the dream of two peasant herbalists

Former mechanical and electronic engineers, Marie and Vincent gave up everything to travel to India and Nepal for a year. This trip gave them the desire to give meaning to their daily lives and to understand the world around us.

That's what they found in working with the soil, and that's how Baume Shanti was born! The word Shanti comes from Sanskrit, and means peace for the body and mind, and harmony for the beings that inhabit our Earth. Marie and Vincent have been guided by this mantra ever since, and are committed to living independently. So they trained respectively in tool-making and the benefits of plants and cosmetics.

In 2015, they returned to their roots and moved to the Ferme de Quimerc'h to make their dream come true and start growing their own plants. Two years later, they were producing their first skincare products from distillation and oily macerates: skincare balms, macerated oils, medicinal syrups, floral waters and essential oils...

«I'm proud to have followed my dreams to the end, and to be living off them today.»

— Marie

Working to the rhythm of nature

Throughout the year, Marie and Vincent's work is punctuated by the weather and the seasons... In spring, the energy of renewal is the moment when everything starts up again: working the soil, preparing the nursery, the first wild harvests... everything has to be ready for the solstice!

During the summer, it's time to harvest all the plants, seeds and roots with a scythe, like little ants. This is when Marie starts drying and macerating certain ingredients.

When autumn arrives, the garden is put to rest and we move into the lab to transform the raw materials into skin care products. In winter, December is devoted to the Christmas markets. Finally, the solstice arrives and everything comes to a halt! This is when Marie and Vincent concentrate on administrative tasks and repairing the tools.
