A festival in the form of an artistic journey
From towns to coastlines, from public squares to rural areas, Les Rias invites young and old, experts and neophytes, locals and holidaymakers alike, to vibrate to the rhythm of a unique programme. Like a journey between land and sea. When public space becomes theatre. Taking place in a number of towns in the Quimperlé area, this unusual festival transforms the public space into a venue for contemporary creation. Poetic moments, intimate bubbles, artistic performances, monumental forms...
Contemporary creation in the spotlight
There's no stopping the creativity of the Rias artists, who are determined to take to the streets to explore the art of theatre in all its dimensions and reach out to a wide audience. And audiences are coming back for more! Since its first edition in 2012, the festival has gone from strength to strength, attracting ever-growing audiences - over 60,000 at previous editions. Every year, some thirty companies - putting on around sixty shows - take to the stage in Saint-Thurien, Le Trévoux, Rédéné, Guilligomarc'h, Clohars- Carnoët, Quimperlé and Riec-sur-Bélon. Or how to make the summer last by discovering the Pays de Quimperlé in resolutely festive mode!
