In South Finistère, from Saturday 27 April to Saturday 4 May, the world of the sea is coming to meet the inhabitants and visitors of Destination Quimperlé les rias. Now in its second year, Semaine de nos rias invites visitors to open the doors of those who make their living from the sea.

Promoting short circuits

Discover those who have made sustainable fishing their hobbyhorse, offering quality products that respect the environment, the water and the seabed. On the water or underwater, the local producers of Destination Quimperlé les rias strive to be the least invasive on the natural environment.

Quimperlé les rias, a naturally inspiring destination! From sea to plate, oysters, fish, seaweed and plants are produced or fished in short circuits. Our producers are keen to point this out, and rightly so.

An exceptional maritime heritage

The rias of southern Finistère are home to small ports such as Brigneau, which enjoyed its heyday fishing sardines until the 1960s. Discover this unique history and the vestiges associated with it on a guided tour of the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire.

Sea outings, fishing lessons and treasure hunts are just some of the fun ways to discover the magnificent architectural and natural heritage of the rias.

Unique visits are also on the programme during this Semaine de nos rias, including a bunker, a cannery, an aquaculture farm and an SNSM lifeboat.

For the more sporty, there are also guided walks and kayak trips along the rias.

Finally, for those with a sweet tooth and a taste for oysters, our oyster farmers will be offering tastings overlooking the Bélon and Merrien rias. A moment out of time, a well-deserved break!
